Mahon Timber Products has been producing log homes and log home components since 1998. We are located near Payson, IL and next to the Mississippi River in the furthest Western region of Illinois. Mahon Timber Products is a family owned business operated by Dave Mahon, his wife Mary and son Will. Dave began building log homes in 1989.  

After 18 years of working at various capacities at the Quincy, IL Regional Airport, Dave purchased sawmill and logging equipment and began operation of Mahon Timber Products. Our main focus was processing hand peeled house logs. Soon, we expanded into producing custom log homes and log home components such as log trusses, log stairways, log rafters, log floor joists, log posts and railing.  

We select trees for our products from thousands of acres of tree farms in our region. We only remove trees that are needed to fill our orders. We use light weight equipment and carefully remove trees with little or no impact to the environment. Gradual thinning normally enhances growth of the remaining trees. 

What gives our products the authentic hand crafted log look is that we use hand held drawknives to remove bark from pine and cedar logs. This produces a uniquely creative product and is the difference that separates our authentic log homes from those built with mass produced moulded logs.

Locally, we offer services of logging, custom sawmilling, and log home construction. In 2009, we added ACME outdoor wood furnaces to our line of products.
